Books are back! With modern technology becoming a prevalent
part of our everyday lives, books, comic books, records and classic newspapers
have become old news. Luckily, the modern hippie generation has re-opened a past fad: bookstores!! Books and Melodies
LLC, located on James Street in Syracuse, NY, is a prime example of a vintage
bookstore that is vibrant and thriving. Books and Melodies LLC, offers an extensive
collection of books, comics, newspapers, records, antiques, ephemera and more. This
lively store is also bigger than it seems- several rooms are dedicated to books
while another is dedicated to music and movies, and another for memorabilia and
antiques! Many of these items are relatively cheap, making you feel good about
your indulgences! To make things even more enticing, the basement of the store
is comprised of thousands of sale items, some of which cost only 5 cents! The
rise of hippie counterculture as well as the overwhelming amount of technology
of modern times has been a wake-up call for vintage stores like Books and
Melodies to re-open and blossom!
